Problem of the Week (Oct. 31, 2016)

Happy Halloween

Directions: Write your work on a separate sheet of paper. Label the paper with your FULL name, your teacher, and which problem(s) you are handing in, then staple it to this sheet.

REMEMBER to show your work on all problems.

Breck Scares Hunger is here again! Hopefully you are busy collecting food to help people who need and appreciate your hard work.

Level 1 Pumpkin: Decorate the pumpkin on the back of this page using the following shapes. Cut the shapes out of colored paper and glue on.

Eyes: Draw circles

Nose: Draw a triangle

Mouth: Draw a rectangle

Teeth: Draw 1 tooth in the mouth for each year old you are.

Level 2 Costume parade:

During the costume parade at Breck, I counted 25 super heroes, 30 animals, 20 princesses, 6 Olympic athletes, 10 Harry Potter characters, and 5 football players. Add up the numbers of costumes I saw. Challenge: If there are 31 preschoolers, 41 Kindergarteners, 65 1st graders, 63 2nd graders, 54 3rd graders, and 67 4th graders, how many students are in the Breck Lower School?

Level 3 Candy Graph:

If you went trick-or-treating, choose 3 kinds of candy you received. Make a pile of each type and count them. Now make a bar graph that shows how many of each you have. Make sure you label your graph with candy names and the number of each. If you did not go trick-or-treating, make a bar graph of some toys you have.
